Vote Ron Paul

Well, Mike Huckabee has been officially removed from my “possibly-decent presidential candidates” list. The more I learn about him, the more I realize his platform doesn’t really offer anything other than the typical folksy republicanism of George W. Bush (whose major accomplishments involved little more than waging various wars around the globe).

Check out this interesting clip from the 9-5-07 Fox News debate. Mike Huckabee indicates that he wants the war in Iraq to continue so that the United States can retain its “honor.” Like Ron Paul, I’m baffled and a bit irritated by that statement. Firstly, what “honor” is Huckabee talking about? How is a greedy, violent, morally-devoid nation like the U.S. “honorable” in any way? Secondly, I’m with Ron Paul in asking… how many more lives is it gonna take so the U.S. government can save face in Iraq?

Not cool, Mr. Huckabee! If you are a little kid in an antique shop, and you “break” something complicated and valuable (like Iraq), certainly you should “buy” it in the sense of trying to make amends monetarily, but don’t try to “fix” it, seeing that your amateur reconstruction efforts will only make things worse.

Folks, we need Ron Paul for two reasons. Firstly, his commitment to freedom and small government is unparalleled among the other 2008 candidates (see my previous article about Ron Paul). Secondly, he is a man of principle (rather than egotistical “honor”) and he is willing to end the war (i.e. ongoing mistake) in Iraq by bringing the troops home.

The Republican primaries/caucuses are fast approaching (Jan. 3rd for Iowa). Register Republican and vote…

Ron Paul 2008 !!!

A quote from Abraham Lincoln: “Military glory–that attractive rainbow, that rises in showers of blood–that serpent’s eye, that charms to destroy…” Perhaps the politicians of today would do well to read Honest Abe’s speech regarding US involvement in the Mexican War. (also note the remarks of Senator Corwin)

Nice! I especially like Mr. Lincoln’s speech.
