What do you get when you combine the TV show Happy Days with a rockin’ song by Weezer? Pure awesomeness, of course. Check it out…

I know! Hilarious! This is perhaps my favorite music video ever.
So many priceless moments… like when the drummer points at Fonz, who shrugs nonchalantly.
Classic.

I know absolutely nothing about Happy Days or Weezer or their rockin’ song. So the clip was kinda lost on me. Plus, I misread your intro and thought you said ‘hilarity’ instead of ‘awesomeness’, so I watched the whole thing waiting for something funny to happen.
I did enjoy the song and the woo’s, though (I think they were woo’s).

You’ve GOT to be kidding, Bethany!!! You didn’t find it slightly comical that the guys from Weezer (a modern rock band) are dressed up as 50′s hipsters and are jamming and interacting with a crowd from an ancient television show??
Actually, my family members didn’t really “get” it either, so allow me to explain…
Happy Days was a 1970′s sitcom set in the 50′s. “Fonzie” was one of the most famous characters (he’s the suave guy in the leather jacket that does the weird dance at the end). The show also starred Ron Howard (who played “Opie” in The Any Griffith Show in his younger days).
The four guys playing/singing the song are the band members of Weezer (modern footage). Basically everything else is actual footage from the show.
So that’s why it’s so cool… somebody did a brilliant job of splicing things together to make it look realistic.
Oh, BTW that’s funny that you misread my statement in that way… I actually thought about using the word “hilarity.” Or at least I think I thought about it. It sure sounds like something I would think.

No way…it was all spliced?! That was amazing, then….what about in the end, where the one guy said “I don’t think anyone tried the fish?” Wow. Even the background matched.
Wow again.
Brings back happy memories!

I know, Eloprah!!! I just can’t get over it!
I think parts of it are re-created with modern footage (for example, apparently the guy that announced the band and talked about “the fish” was the actual actor from the show, but he did those parts in recent times specifically for the music video), but the clips with Fonzie and Richie are certainly pulled right out of the show.
Glad you liked it!!

I can’t believe how well the video is synced! They must have actually gone back to the 50s to do this. But, the real miracle is that they got Fonzie to dance like that.
