Andrew Peterson
Tonight I attended the Andrew Peterson concert at Cedar Valley Bible Church. I don’t even know how to describe how amazing it was. I had never heard of Mr. Peterson until just recently, and I decided to go to this show on a whim (a friend of mine highly recommended his music). I’m so glad I did… I feel like I’ve finally found some Christian music that isn’t terrible.
Andrew Peterson and his band had a very folksy sound, and the music was heartfelt and poetic. Andrew seemed like a really nice guy, as did all of the other band members.
The main thing I noticed about Andrew and his band is that they were very real sort of people. It wasn’t like they were performing… it was like they were just sharing their hearts and praising the Lord. That, my friends, is the real deal. I wish all Christian music could be that way.
Many instruments were used (piano, organ, guitars, dobro, hammer dulcimer, pedal steel, drums, electric bass), and the sound setup was perfect. Everything could be clearly heard, and the volume was just right.
There’s not really much more I can write that would do justice to this concert. All I can say is that Andrew Peterson has rocketed to (near) the top of my favorites list. If you ever get a chance to see him live, do so without hesitation.
