Enchanted
I’ve been meaning to write up a short review of the movie Enchanted, which I watched on DVD a couple of weeks ago.
I really enjoyed the movie. Aside from some cheesy parts (like the animated intro, etc.), it was quite entertaining.
For those of you who don’t know, Enchanted combines aspects of many classic fairy tales (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc.) into one story. It’s about a princess in a magical land who gets transported (via a wishing well that apparently houses a rift in space-time) to modern-day New York City, where she meets a single dad and his daughter. You can pretty much guess what happens from there.
So yeah… the story is a bit trite, but the princess character (“Giselle”) is so lovable that it’s easy to overlook plot weaknesses. She’s such a sweet and carefree person (often singing and dancing as she walks about NYC in a fancy dress, oblivious to the fact that everyone is staring at her)! I found it impossible to keep from smiling.
Definitely check out Enchanted if you haven’t already. If you have, let me know what you thought of it!!
