Boring

I have been boring myself with my writing lately. I can’t seem to think of anything interesting to talk about. Thus, I have decided to write a self-referential stream-of-consciousness essay in celebration of boring literature.

There are many good things about boring essays such as this one. Firstly, they are easy to read and understand, because when nothing of import is said, it is rather difficult to miss the point.

Secondly, they are good because they are accessible to the masses. They make everyone feel like a winner (“hey, my life is pretty exciting compared to the author’s life!”).

Lastly, and most importantly, boring essays are good because they are easy to write. Most people are simply unable to read the entire thing, meaning that the author has total freedom to say whatever he pleases! He can use poor grammar, logical fallacies, etc. without fear, because the bored reader’s mind will be too tired to notice these mistakes.
