Work, Part II
A while ago, I wrote about my plans for summer work. Well, I am happy to report that things are going rather well. Actually, let me rephrase that… I LOVE MY JOB(S)!!!
I have been doing some SAT tutoring (mostly math stuff), and my student took her SAT test this weekend and felt like she did really well. So I was happy about that.
Also, I work for the Institute of Hydraulics Research at the U of I. I’m designing, building, and testing various embedded systems. It is an AMAZING job… the pay is great, and the hours are totally flexible. I can work at home, any time I want (as long as I finish the projects in a reasonable amount of time). Today I worked 8 hours. My current project is a microprocessor-driven interface for an atmospheric pressure sensor.
I’m starting to really enjoy engineering (and teaching, for that matter)!

Thanks Bethany! My jobs have caused the age-old question to re-surface: what do I want to pursue when I graduate? Full-time work (fun, relaxing, and lucrative), or full-time school (stressful, yet possibly rewarding)? Aaargh! Oh well… I’ll think about that later.
