Flood
For those of you who don’t know, the Cedar Rapids area has been experiencing some major flooding. This afternoon, my mom and I made a trip from North Liberty to Cedar Rapids to pick up a vehicle that was in the shop. On our way back, we were accompanied by my dad and my brother Josiah (they decided to leave work early). The entire trip there and back took about 3.5 hours (typically it takes about an hour).
Here are some pictures which give a small glimpse into the situation (notice how the water rose to nearly cover the roadway of Hwy 13 in two hours… shortly after we got home, they closed down that road).
This doesn’t even come close to showing the extent of the flooding. Downtown Cedar Rapids is basically under water. I hope that you will join me in praying for the many families who have been displaced from their homes, and praying that the flooding will not get worse (as is predicted).

Nice pictures! Photographers really had a hayday with the flooding:) There are a lot of really good pictures documenting it. It was very sad to see all of the people’s homes destroyed… I went and helped clean up in Palo, someone said that 90 % of the homes there were affected by the flood.

These are some crazy pictures… everything’s crazy… I’m glad you weren’t one of the ‘stop all the traffic so I can shoot a video on my cell phone’ people…
See ya tomorrow.
