My Lab
As you may know, I am a teaching assistant for this semester’s Digital Design class at the U of I. This is the third time I have helped teach this class. It is an introduction to digital electronics (binary numbers, boolean logic, logic gates, sequential circuits, etc.), and it’s really fun.
I thought you might like to see what my lab looks like. I have about 4 office hours, and about 12 lab hours each week, so I spend quite a bit of time here. It contains all kinds of cool equipment… digital oscilloscopes, function generators, logic analyzers, FPGA development kits, and a huge supply of various IC chips.
If you’re ever in the Iowa City area, stop by and say hi! We can hang out and do some electronics stuff! ![]()

Can you really not find the spelling error? Look at the first line of the second paragraph. Or were you just joking? : )

Cool! And here I had always imagined it as some dark, dank, yellowed corner, filled with hulking machines….wait, I think I had it confused with all my chemistry labs. ![]()

Haha Nathan! Chemistry labs are always such lovely places. (Un)fortunately for me, I shall never visit such places again!
Hi Anne!!! Welcome to my blog!! Yep, it’s a super cool job… I want to be a college professor when I grow up, so it’s good experience. I had to get up “early” today though, so that’s the only bad part. ![]()

Very spiffy, Jed! Sounds like a neat environment to be in! I am currently residing in my practice room in Marquis, which, right now I’ve also converted into my computer lab. Which means grand piano + laptop = no room!
